Tnemec Company, Inc. announces that the water tank in Cheyenne, WY, has been voted the People’s Choice Award winner in the 2025 Tank of the Year competition.

This award automatically places the Cheyenne tank among the top 12 finalists, all of whom will be featured in Tnemec’s annual water tank calendar alongside the overall Tank of the Year winner.

“The Cheyenne water tower mural project is more than just a fresh coat of paint,” says Kevin Morris, director of the Water Tank Market. “It’s a community celebration that brings together history and art, capturing the natural beauty and heritage of the region from 250 years ago. This tower will stand as a lasting tribute not only to Cheyenne’s past but also to the spirit of its community.”

This year, more than 300 water tanks were nominated, and around 16,000 online votes were cast from across the U.S. and Canada.

“Since 2006, Tnemec has been recognizing municipalities for their aesthetic, creative, and innovative uses of our high-performance coatings on water storage tank projects,” adds Morris.

“This year’s finalists showcase a remarkable variety of water tanks in diverse shapes and sizes, each notable for its unique qualities and the stories they tell about their communities.”

The 2025 Tank of the Year will be featured in January in Tnemec’s 2025 water tank calendar, with all finalists and nominees highlighted in subsequent months.
